## The basics

### What is DealerClaw?

DealerClaw is an AI-native agency for dealership leaders. We help you choose useful AI projects, build custom workflows around your team’s work, and support them as your needs and the technology change. That includes strategy, technical setup, implementation, and ongoing support.

### Who is DealerClaw for?

DealerClaw is built for dealership marketing managers, general managers, and dealer principals. A good starting point is a recurring task that takes too much time, stalls between people or systems, or keeps getting pushed down the list.

### Is DealerClaw a software platform or an agency?

DealerClaw is an agency. We start with your dealership’s process and the problem you want to solve. Depending on the job, we may build a custom workflow, a managed AI agent, or a small tool that fills a gap in your existing process. We handle the technical work and help your team use the result.

### Who is behind DealerClaw?

DealerClaw was founded by Eric Dumlao, who spent more than a decade working directly with dealerships at Dealer Inspire. He started DealerClaw to help dealership leaders put AI to work without making it their second job. [Learn more about Eric](https://dealerclaw.dev/about) .

## What we can build

### What can AI help with at a dealership?

Useful starting points include comparing reports from different sources, tracking competitor changes, following up on vendor support cases, and preparing website creative. We define who owns the task, the inputs available, the deadline, and the output your team needs before proposing a workflow.

Explore the workflow examples:

- [Analyze dealership reports across multiple sources](https://dealerclaw.dev/insights/analyze-dealership-reports-across-multiple-sources)
- [Track competitor price changes](https://dealerclaw.dev/insights/competitor-price-alerts)
- [Follow up on vendor support cases](https://dealerclaw.dev/insights/dealership-vendor-follow-up-automation)
- [Prepare website creative for review and publishing](https://dealerclaw.dev/insights/dealership-website-creative-automation)

These breakdowns illustrate possible workflows. The systems, access, and actions for your dealership are agreed on separately.

### What is a managed AI agent?

A managed AI agent is set up to carry out defined, recurring work using the tools and access your dealership approves. DealerClaw handles its setup, support, and improvements. For managed agent work, each agent runs on a dedicated, isolated computer for your dealership.

### Can DealerClaw work with our existing tools and vendors?

We start with the tools and vendors already involved in the job. What we can connect depends on the workflow, available access, provider requirements, and your approval. Nothing is connected by default. We agree on the scope before implementation.

### Can you help with an AI project we already started?

Yes. DealerClaw can help you assess an existing AI project, work through an implementation problem, or decide on the next useful step. Bring the task, what you have tried, and the part that is holding you up.

## Working together

### How do we get started?

[Send a message or book a meeting](https://dealerclaw.dev/contact) . Tell us what your team is trying to get done, where the work gets stuck, and which tools are involved. We use that conversation to identify a practical first project and discuss its scope.

### Does our whole staff need to learn AI?

You do not need to train your entire staff to start. We build around the people responsible for the workflow and handle the technical setup. Your team helps define what good work looks like, reviews the output where needed, and gives feedback as the workflow improves.

### How much does DealerClaw cost?

Pricing depends on the work you need, the systems involved, and the level of implementation and ongoing support. [Contact us to discuss your project and pricing](https://dealerclaw.dev/contact) . Scope, fees, and service terms are agreed on before work begins.

### What happens after a workflow is built?

DealerClaw offers ongoing support and improvements, regular working sessions, and practical guidance as AI capabilities change. The level of support is part of the agreed scope, so you know who is responsible for maintaining the workflow as your tools and priorities evolve.

## Access & control

### What access does DealerClaw need?

Only the access approved for the job. We agree on the people, tools, accounts, information, and actions involved before implementation. Access can be narrowed or removed, and an agent cannot expand its own authority. [Read about access and security](https://dealerclaw.dev/security) .

### Is our dealership’s work kept separate from other dealers?

For managed agent work, DealerClaw uses a dedicated environment for each approved dealership scope. Files, browser sessions, memory, and work are kept separate from other dealerships. The people and rooftops included in your scope are agreed on before setup. [See how dedicated environments work](https://dealerclaw.dev/security) .

### Can an AI agent send messages or make changes without approval?

Consequential external actions, including customer messages, record changes, and pricing changes, require authorized human approval by default. Any exception must be defined in the written scope. Your dealership decides which people, tools, workflows, and actions are authorized. [Read about human control](https://dealerclaw.dev/security) .

### Does DealerClaw need our CRM or customer data?

Many projects can start without a CRM connection or customer data. Sensitive CRM access stays off until the workflow passes its security and privacy review. Work can stay limited to approved redacted exports, aggregate reports, or information de-identified by your dealership. [See the sensitive-data boundaries](https://dealerclaw.dev/security) .
